As we countdown to the opening of Everybody, the creative team is proud to announce our collaboration with Theatre for Social Change at UC Davis. At the end of each of our three shows, TFSC will be hosting post-show talkbacks. These will be 30 minutes long and will immediately follow the show, on the same Zoom webinar link. Additionally, TFSC is curating community engagement by offering audience members the opportunity to share their stories. Viewers will have the option to share their individual stories (in relation to concepts discussed in the show) on digital “tags,” which will be available on a link to a Google form before the show.

See their mission statement below for more information! We are thrilled to partner with an organization that shares our goal of encouraging community dialogue, decolonizing the arts, and exploring a love of theatre.

“Theatre for Social Change (TFSC) is a student-run organization founded at University of California, Davis, in Winter Quarter 2019 under the advisory of Professor Margaret L. Kemp (Dept. Theater and Dance). This organization was developed out of a necessity for members of marginalized communities and allies to have a platform to advocate for social change through performance, and to push the work of people of color to the forefront.

Our goal is to promote healthy dialogue and build a community by encouraging diverse members of the campus and surrounding communities to come together in solidarity over social issues that everyone should be aware of and address. This organization is a space where students from all disciplines can feel like they can contribute through their own expression. Within this space, we want to deconstruct systems of oppression occurring in our institutions and tell these stories through theatre. Through these discussions and stories, we aim to learn how theatre can best benefit everyone, how we can apply this knowledge to our communities, and how we can engage in meaningful social change.”
